Winner for Best Golf Course 2021 – Tobacco Road Golf Club

The winner for Best Course goes to Tobacco Road Golf Club. Not often do things sneak up on us, but that’s just what Tobacco Road did! Tobacco Road is located just outside Pinehurst, North Carolina, and our little adventure down the road was a total surprise. Tobacco Road’s unique and challenging layout stole the show for us in 2021, and no matter what course we played, we keep circling back to Tobacco Road!

Winner for Best Golf App 2021 – USGA Rules of Golf Mobile App

The app that caught the attention of Golf Aficionado this year is one every golfer should have. The USGA Rules of Golf Mobile app. I can remember the old days when you would renew your USGA membership, and they would always ship out the rules of golf handbook. I would typically put it in my golf bag, and it would get wet and nasty until I eventually threw it out. The new mobile app makes it easy to access the rules from your phone and get a quick ruling!

Best New Golf Course 2021 – Payne’s Valley at Big Cedar Golf Resort

In 2021, the winner was clear on which course would win this award! Payne’s Valley at Big Cedar Golf Resort set a new bar for public golf experiences. The 19th hole is the perfect way to finish a round of golf, and the course is stunning from start to finish.

Best Golf Product 2021 – Bushnell Pro XE2

The staff at Golf Aficionado spends as much time as possible playing golf, big surprise! In 2021 there was a product we used more than our Bushnell Pro XE2 Laser Rangefinder. We’ve always been big fans of Bushnell; they undoubtedly build quality products. However, this year with the Pro XE2, they finally won our most coveted award. What put the Pro XE2 over the top was the introduction of BYTE technology. The Pro XE2 is as complete as complete gets and worth every penny. The last rangefinder you will ever buy!

Best Golf Resort 2021 …

And the winner is… Big Cedar Golf Resort! In a year where we all tried to get back to normal as much as possible, Big Cedar Golf Resort shinned above the rest. Providing a great experience wrapped around an actual destination city in Branson, Missouri, our multiple trips out to Big Cedar Golf Resort in 2021 secured in our mind that they were the clear winner. Three 18-hole Championship Golf Courses and two stunning and challenging Par-3 golf courses, along with everything the resort has to offer, just put Big Cedar over the top.
