Northern California – 2020 Ultimate Golf Destination

2020 all-around has been a miserable year. We’ve seen hundreds of thousands of lives come to a tragic end at the hands of COVID-19. The pandemic has impacted the entire world, changing how we interact, travel, and conduct business. For several months, during the pandemic’s height, we were landlocked as travel came to a halt, and many states restricted travel and even forced golf courses to close.

However, as we learned more about the virus and states began to reopen, we focused on our annual Ultimate Golf Destination. Would we go somewhere, should we go somewhere? Like so many other people around the country, we decided life must go on, so we went to work.

We usually start with a list of destinations and narrow it down to one. 2020 was different during the shutdown time ticked away, and we were behind schedule when we resumed operations. As we started planning, we knew the travel industry was still in the early stages of recovering, some resorts were still closed, and others had just opened.

With all the lemons life had dealt us, we decided why not make lemonade. Let’s go out and see if you can go to the most Ultimate Golf Destination in the country, Pebble Beach! Under normal circumstances, Pebble Beach is sold out, booked out way in advance, and in general a tough place to get a reservation, let alone a tee-time.

Like so many other places around the world, Pebble Beach had been impacted by COVID-19. While Pebble Beach was back up and running, the resort was still dealing with a large number of COVID-19 cancelations and had availability to host us at the beginning of September on short notice.

We built an iconic golf itinerary centered around Pebble Beach Golf Links and included Spy Glass Hill Golf Course and Poppy Hills Golf Course. We’ve been to Northern California but never crossed the threshold of Pebble Beach, so this trip would not only allow us to feature Pebble Beach but also launch our newest destination page, Northern California.
