Winner for Best Golf App 2022 – Hole 19 Golf Mobile App
We’re big into Technology here at Golf Aficionado. Our Publisher has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science so we’re always trying out new golf apps as they become available. Hole 19 caught our attention when they partnered with American Express (The Official Credit Card of Golf Aficionado Magazine) and offered card members a free premium subscription. After using Hole19 for several months, we fell in love and didn’t play a course without launching the app and entering in stats from our apple watches. An easy-to-use interface and excellent apple watch integration made Hole 19 the clear winner in 2022.
Best New Golf Course 2022 – Landmand Golf Club
In 2022, Landmand Golf Club opened in the middle of nowhere, Nebraska. Landmand is the first new 18-hole design from Rob Collins and Tad King, creators of the nine-hole wonder course at the extremely popular Sweetens Cove, the wait to play Sweetens Cove is months long. Fans of their work waited a long time to see Rob and Tad get a chance to design an 18-hole course. The wait is finally over. Exploring Landmand was a blast! The largest green in the world fits right into the massive glacially forged landmass upon which Landmand was built. Go ahead and add Landmand Golf Club to your 2023 bucket list. You won’t be disappointed.

Best Course Renovation 2022 – Cypress Course @ Bonita Bay Club
In 2022, we were so impressed with the significant renovation done on the Cypress Course at Bonita Bay Club in Naples, Florida, that we created a new award category to highlight the best renovation of the year. Led by Fazio Design, the renovation touched every hole. The entire course was elevated by 12 to 18 inches to improve drainage, six new lakes were created, and four existing lakes were expanded. Immediately tested by Hurricane Ian and Nicole, Cypress Course had no problem with drainage and was dry as a bone a day after the storms passed. The most significant playing change is the new massive sub-green complexes. You’ll get a Royal Melbourne feeling when playing the Cypress Course.
