This year’s PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes managed to deliver both, wrapped in a setting that feels less like a mega-sporting event and more like golf’s best-kept family tradition.
What made this edition especially meaningful wasn’t just the quality of play (which was exceptional), but the people beside me as I walked the fairways. Covering the tournament alongside my daughter, Cameron. She quite literally grew up around golf and is now in her senior year of college. It was one of those full-circle moments that stops you in your tracks. Add in the newest member of our family, Cypress, attending his very first professional golf tournament, and suddenly this assignment felt a lot bigger than birdies and trophies.

The venue plays a huge role in that ease. Parking is simple. Access is effortless. You can walk straight to the course, pick your favorite group, and actually follow them without fighting crowds or logistics. It’s professional golf without the friction.
In an era where many events feel overwhelming, this one feels welcoming.
A Sunday Showcase
When it came time to decide the championship, Team Kuchar left no doubt. The duo delivered a Sunday performance that will go down as some of the best golf the PNC Championship has ever seen. Precise, confident, and relentless. Matt Kuchar and his son Cameron simply ran away from the field, turning the final round into a masterclass.
That said, the tournament still delivered drama. Fan favorites Team Daly, led by the ever-electric John Daly, pushed hard and kept energy buzzing throughout the day. Their charge earned them a share of second place alongside Team Love, featuring Davis Love III, reminding everyone why experience and chemistry still matter on Sundays.
