Recently at Golf Aficionado we had the opportunity to try out some golf apparel from Carnoustie Sportswear. I have to admit I wasn’t familiar with the brand and typically when I hear the name Carnoustie the only thing that comes to mind is the Open Championship. However, as I started doing some research I was surprised to find out that Carnoustie Sportswear was founded over 20 years ago and has been producing high-end apparel ever since. At Carnoustie they combine outstanding workmanship and elegant styling to produce some of the finest golf gear available today.
Carnoustie produces several different lines of clothing but I was most interested in the performance line which features polos, pullovers, vest, shorts, and pants. I was given one of their multi stripe performance polos to try out on the golf course and wanted to share my experience. Similar to most golf shirts on the market today the performance polo from Carnoustie is made from polyester and provides moisture wicking performance. Typically, I wear a large or extra-large polo depending on the fit and manufacturer. My Carnoustie polo was a size extra-large and fit very comfortably, perfect for swinging a golf club. Golf is hard enough without feeling uncomfortable over every shot because your shirt is a little too tight or there isn’t enough room in the arms.

The Carnoustie performance polo is sophisticated enough for the office yet designed for the golf course. A perfect combination for anyone with limited space in the closet and the need for flexibility in the wardrobe. In my home, my wife has taken up most of the closet space so I need clothing that can do double duty on and off the course. To me that flexibility is what separates Carnoustie from other brands in the golf industry. I’ve had plenty of golf shirts from all the major brands but the problem is when I wear them around town or into the office it looks like I’m wearing a golf shirt. With my Carnoustie polo I was able to run around town and go into office without being excused of trying to slip in nine holes. With any of the stylish looks available from Carnoustie you’re not only going to have something that looks and feels great but also fits any occasion.
