Golf Heritage Society Trade Show Open to the Public

In Golf Courses, Trade Shows by Roxanne Spellman

For golf lovers, an exciting event will take place near Pittsburgh this fall. The Golf Heritage Society (GHS) will hold it’s National Convention Sept. 29–Oct. 3 at the DoubleTree Inn in Monroeville, Pa. The GHS, founded in 1970, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving golf history.

The public is invited to attend the GHS trade show on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the hotel, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Entry for the public is free. No registration is required.

“For those who love golf and its traditions, GHS trade shows are fantastic opportunities to learn more about the history of the game and have fun exploring the world of golf collectibles,” said Dr. Bern Bernacki, president of the Society. “We welcome all to join the fun.”

At the trade show, over 100 collectors, dealers, and golf artists are expected.  They will display items for exhibit and for sale. The variety of items will include golf artwork and illustrations, silver, medals, autographed items, rare golf clubs and balls – and much more — at a wide range of prices.

World-renowned golf landscape artist Linda Hartough will participate in a golf artists’ panel discussion in conjunction with the GHS National Convention.

“The golf art genre is a natural fit for the GHS,” said Hartough, a longtime member of the Society. “The synergy stems from the fact that fine golf art records golf history in a way that complements and augments other aspects of golf memorabilia for those who love the game, both current and future generations.”

The Golf Auction (TheGolfAuction.com) is the presenting sponsor of the GHS National Convention. More information about the GHS and its convention can be found on its website: GolfHeritage.org.
