L.A.B. Golf DF3 Putter Review: The Hype Is Real

In Product Reviews by Rob Spellman

If you’ve played a round of golf in the last year, chances are you’ve seen—or at least heard of—L.A.B. Golf putters. The brand has surged in popularity, and for good reason. In the past year alone, ten PGA Tour players have switched to L.A.B. Their putters are showing up in more and more golf bags at every level. I can personally attest to this—every round I play, someone is either asking about my putter or showing off their own L.A.B. putter and raving about it.

After going through L.A.B.’s virtual fitting process, I was fit for the DF3, and the results have been game-changing. The fitting process is impressive—L.A.B. uses a video you take at home and your existing putter specs to dial in a custom setup tailored to your stroke. It’s a simple yet highly effective way to ensure you’re getting the right putter for your game.

Now, onto the DF3 itself. The most significant improvement I’ve seen is in my mid-range putts. With my previous putter—a custom Byron Morgan that I gamed for years—I often left these putts short. However, with the DF3, those identical putts either find the bottom of the cup or at least give themselves a real chance. The stability and balance of the putter make a noticeable difference in speed control and consistency.

The most significant adjustment has been on shorter putts. The DF3 has some serious pop off the face, and I’ve had to shorten my backswing to accommodate the extra weight and energy transfer. That said, the feedback and roll are incredibly consistent once you adjust.

After extensive on-course testing, I can confidently say that I’m in love with this putter. The DF3 has officially replaced my long-time gamer, which I never thought would happen. If you’re considering a L.A.B. putter, the hype is real—just be prepared to field many questions about it from curious playing partners.
