The Heart of Central Florida
This April we had the chance to experience 3-nights at Reunion Resort in Kissimmee, located in the heart of Central Florida. First off, Reunion Resort is like its own little city. As you make your way through the guarded gate it’s as if you’re entering a member-only Florida oasis.
The first thing you’ll notice is all the beautiful private residences, a colorful palate of modern homes as far as the eyes can see. After about a mile and half past the gate, you’ll notice The Bear’s Den, a new community currently under development.
The Bear’s Den
Did you say, The Bear’s Den, yes, that’s right. The Bear’s Den as in The Golden Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus. The Bear’s Den features future homesites on the Nicklaus Golf Course 18th fairway from $350K, homes on the Nicklaus Golf Course 18th green from $900K, and Executive Homes starting from $700K.
About as long as it will take you to imagine your dream home on the 18th of the Nicklaus Course, you’ll pass by the private waterpark. That’s right, I said private waterpark. Oh, this isn’t just a pool with a few slides, this is a full-on five-acre waterpark.
The Water Park
You can float in an inner tube down the lazy river or race down a twisting water slide. Relax under glorious Florida sun or rent a cabana to cool off in some shade with a frozen cocktail. There is a zero-entry pool, perfect for younger children, along with endless fun at the splash playground. Adults can grab a cool drink at Drifters Bar and snack at the onsite restaurant. Any time of year is good, the Water Park pools are climate controlled for year-round enjoyment.
Now that you’ve passed by the Water Park and double-checked that you packed your swimsuit, you’re finally ready to arrive at the Grande Tower, the heartbeat of Reunion Resort. Grande Tower is the hub of the resort; featuring multiple restaurants and the clubhouse the servers both the Watson and Palmer Course.
Grande Tower
Accommodations within the Grande Tower feature over 200 villas. Pick between one and three bedrooms, guests can gather in large living room spaces, plush personal bedrooms, and private outdoor balconies. In addition to full kitchens, many villas also include washer and dryer units, and multiple bathrooms.
We had an extremely spacious 2-bedroom villa located on the 5th floor and provided us with a fabulous view of the practice facilities and the 18th of the Watson Course. The entire weekend we marveled at all the space we had and enjoyed stretching out on the massive sectional.
Activities & More
We didn’t spend much time on the couch, there was just too much to do. We’re Golf Aficionado so you know we had to play all 3 of the courses at Reunion, the only place you’ll find courses co-located by golf legends Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson. When we weren’t playing golf or spending time at the Water Park, we still had tons of activities to choose from including tennis, pickleball, footgolf, mini-golf, swimming pools, playgrounds, bocce ball, and bike rentals. We highly recommend renting some bikes and exploring the resort, we found it the best way to get out and experience everything the resort had to offer.
To be honest, by the time we left Reunion, we were exhausted. We put the peddle to the medal all weekend and had a blast playing golf, swimming, and eating. We felt the resort had the perfect name “Reunion”, we said more than once this would be the perfect spot for a family reunion, invite as many people as you want. With all of the accommodation options available at the Grande Tower, combined with whole-home rentals, there is something to fit families of all sizes. Not to mention Reunion Resort is only 6 miles from Walt Disney World’s theme parks. At Reunion, the options are limitless, a golf trip with the buddies, a family reunion, wedding, Disney vacation.
