Did Someone say Golfing?
That’s right, Mystic Lake not only offers luxurious hotel accommodations, world-class gambling, and activities, but they also have one of the best golf courses in the state right outside their back doors. In 2002, Mystic Lake Casino Hotel bought Lone Pine Country Club, which sat adjacent to the hotel. After a three-year remodel by architects Garrett Gill and Paul Miller, The Meadows of Mystic Lake opened in 2005.
The course features wide fairways, rock-wall protected greens, and water on 13 of the 18 holes. In August, The Meadows at Mystic Lake hosted the inaugural Land O’Lakes Legends Classic, featuring some of the most outstanding senior women’s golfers from the LPGA Tour.
Mystic Lake Casino Hotel and The Meadows at Mystic Lake are owned and operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. Surrounded by acres of wildflowers and prairie plants with water on 13 holes, The Meadows is a golf course unlike any other. Playing the golf course, you genuinely feel the Native American spirit and their connection with the land. The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community are very proud of their NativeGreen initiative using treated wastewater to irrigate the property and other measures to reduces the course impact on natural resources.
Not Your Average Resort Golf Course!
The Meadows at Mystic Lake is far from most resort courses. The Meadows at Mystic Lake is a tough, tough, tough course. Errant shots are not recommended and are heavily penalized by the thick rough, and numerous water hazards. Bring your safe game or a lot of golf balls. Don’t worry, either way, you’re on a golf holiday, and we won’t judge!
Water is a constant theme at The Meadows at Mystic Lake. You’ll play only a few holes where a stream or pond isn’t visible. The long native grasses come into play along every hole. Golf in the Midwest is known for challenging golfers, and at The Meadows at Mystic Lake, you’re in for a challenge like none other!
During our 3-night stay at Mystic Lake Casino and Hotel, we took full advantage of everything Mystic Lake and the surrounding area offered. We played golf at The Meadows at Mystic Lake, participated in the AM Golf Trips Hazeltine National event, explored Minneapolis and Mall of America, and lost a few dollars on the blackjack tables.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. We highly recommend staying and playing at Mystic Lake anytime you visit the Minneapolis area. If you love gambling and golf as much as we do, you’ll feel right at home! Make sure to plan enough time to enjoy everything the area has to offer. We stayed 3-nights and felt like we could have used an extra day.
